Definitions
Our privacy policy should be simple and understandable for everyone. For this reason, our privacy policy generally uses the official terms of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The official definitions are explained in Art. 4 GDPR.
Access to and storage of information in terminal equipment
By using our website, access to information (e.g. IP address) or storage of information (e.g. cookies) in your terminal equipment may occur. This access or storage may involve further processing of personal data pursuant to the GDPR.
In cases where such access to information or such storage of information is strictly necessary for the technically error-free delivery of our services, this is done on the basis of Sect. 25 para. 1 p. 1, para. 2 no. 2 TTDSG.
In cases where such a process serves other purposes (e.g. the needs-based design of our website), this will only be carried out on the basis of Sect. 25 para. 1 TTDSG with your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. The consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.
For more information on the processing of your personal data and the relevant legal basis in this context, please refer to the following sections on the specific processing activities on our website.
Web Hosting
This website is hosted by an external service provider (hoster). This website is hosted in Germany. Personal data collected on this website is stored on the hoster’s servers. This may include, but is not limited to, IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, web page accesses and other data generated by a website.
We collect the listed data to ensure a proper connection to the website and an error-free delivery of our services. The processing of this data is strictly necessary to make the website available to you. The legal basis for the processing of the data is our legitimate interest in the correct presentation and functionality of our website in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
We have concluded a Data Processing Agreement with the provider in accordance with the requirements of Art. 28 GDPR, in which we commit him to protect the data of our customers and not to pass them on to third parties.
Cookies
Our website uses so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are either temporarily stored on your end device for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them yourself or an automatic solution is provided by your web browser.
Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping basket function or language settings). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behaviour or display advertising.
The processing of data using strictly necessary cookies is based on a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR in the technically error-free delivery of our services. For details on the processing purposes and legitimate interests, please refer to the following explanations on the specific data processing.
The processing of personal data using other cookies is based on consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. The consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. Insofar as such cookies are used for analysis and optimisation purposes, we will inform you separately about this in this privacy policy and obtain your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
You can set your browser to
- be informed about the setting of cookies,
- only allow cookies in individual cases,
- exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally,
- activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed.
The cookie settings can be managed under the following links for each browser:
You can also manage cookies of many companies and functions used for advertising individually. To do so, use the appropriate user tools, available at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices.
Most browsers also offer a so-called “do-not-track function”. When this feature is enabled, the browser tells ad networks, websites, and applications that you do not want to be “tracked” for behavioural advertising and the like.
For information and instructions on how to edit this feature, please refer to the links below, depending on your browser provider:
Additionally, you can prevent the loading of so-called scripts by default. “NoScript” allows the execution of JavaScripts, Java and other plug-ins only at trusted domains of your choice. Information and instructions on how to edit this function can be obtained from the provider of your browser (e.g. for Mozilla Firefox at: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/ ).
Please note that if you disable cookies, the functionality of our website may be limited.
Change cookie settings
You can revoke or change your cookie settings at any time. To do so, access the cookie settings again. You can find this at the bottom of our website.
External links to social media
On our website social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Youtube, Facebook) is solely embedded as a link to the respective service. After clicking on the embedded text/image-link you will be directed to the website of the respective provider. User information will only be transferred after the redirection to the respective provider. Information regarding the use of your personal data through the use of the website can be found in the privacy policies of the visited websites.
Data Transfer and Recipients
Your personal data is not transferred to third parties, unless
- we have explicitly pointed this out in the description of the respective data processing.
- you have given your explicit consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. a GDPR,
- the transfer pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f GDPR is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims and our legitimate interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms.
- there is a legal obligation to transfer data pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. c GDPR, and
- required by Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. b GDPR for the execution of contractual relationships with you.
In addition, we use external service providers for the processing of our services, whom we have carefully selected and commissioned in writing. They are bound by our instructions and are regularly monitored by us. Required data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are concluded before the commission. In particular, these contracts concern web hosting services, the dispatch of emails and IT updates and maintenance. Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties by our service providers.
External services
In the following you will find more detailed information on the external services we have integrated on our website.
Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, an internet analysis service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”.
Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse your use of the website and to compile reports on website activity. Google will also use this information to provide the website operator with other services related to the use of the website and the Internet. The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR on the basis of the consent you have given.
We only use Google Analytics with activated IP anonymisation. This means that your IP address is only processed by Google in abbreviated form.
We have concluded a data processing agreement with the service provider in which we oblige them to protect our customers’ data and not to pass it on to third parties.
Since a transfer of personal data by Google to affiliates and sub-processors to countries outside the EU and EEA is possible, further appropriate safeguards are required to ensure the level of data protection under the GDPR. For the U.S., there is an adequacy decision of the EU Commission pursuant to Art. 45 para. 1 GDPR regarding companies with certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and is therefore committed to compliance with adequate data protection standards, which can be verified via the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/participant-search
For potential transfers to other countries outside the EU and the EEA, for which no adequacy decision of the EU Commission exists, we have concluded standard contractual clauses with the provider in accordance with Art. 46 para. 2 lit. c GDPR. These oblige the recipient of the data in the country outside the EU to process the data in accordance with the level of protection in Europe.
The Google Analytics terms of use and information on data protection can be accessed via the following links:
http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html
https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. Erasure of data at user and activity level linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID) and advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID, IDFA [Apple identifier for advertisers]) takes place no later than 14 months after their collection.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting the settings of your browser software accordingly. However, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website without restriction. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and analysing your use of the website (including your IP address) and processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

The default expiry time of the cookie is 1 year.
The service is provided exclusively in a Member State of the European Union or in another State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
For the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Polylang’s privacy policy: https://polylang.pro/privacy-policy/ and the provider’s FAQ https://polylang.pro/doc-category/faq/.
Google Fonts
We use “Google Fonts” on our website, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as: “Google”). Google Fonts enables us to use external fonts. For this purpose, the required Google Fonts are loaded into your browser cache by our web server when you access our website. This is necessary so that your browser can display a visually improved representation of our texts. If your browser does not support this function, a standard font will be used by your computer for display.
The fonts are hosted by us and therefore are not loaded by an external provider. This requires the processing of your IP address.
We use Google Fonts for optimization purposes, in particular to improve the use of our website for you and to make its design more user-friendly. The legal basis for the data processing is our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).
Matomo
Our website uses Matomo, an open-source software for analysing the use of our website. Matomo helps us understand how visitors use the website so that we can improve our offering.
We use Matomo without cookies, and the IP address is anonymised. This means that no personal data is stored and visitors cannot be recognised.
The analysis is based exclusively on anonymised data. No data is passed on to third parties.
Consent and objection:
As Matomo works without cookies, no separate consent is required. You can prevent your data from being collected at any time via your browser or by deactivating tracking.
YouTube
On our website we embed videos from “YouTube”, a social media platform of Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is your given consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.
When the display of the embedded YouTube videos is started by your consent, a server call is made, usually to a Google server in the United States. This server is informed of the page you have accessed, and the IP address of the visitor’s browser is transmitted to Google and stored by Google.
In case of your consent, YouTube also uses cookies to collect information about user behaviour. According to YouTube, these cookies are used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve the user experience and prevent abuse. If you are signed in to Google, your information may also be associated with your account when you click on a video. If you do not want your data associated with your YouTube profile, you must sign out before activating the button. Google will store this information in the form of a user profile and use it for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or improving the user experience on its websites. In particular, this analysis is used (including for users who are not logged in) to display relevant advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles. To do so, please contact Google directly.
Further information on data protection and data use by Google can be found on the following Google website: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Wordfence protects our website from hacker attacks and other unauthorised access. To do this, the user’s IP address is transmitted to Wordfence. In addition, Wordfence sets necessary cookies that are used exclusively for security checks and not for any other purposes. Wordfence does not store any other personal data of the user.
We process the data on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to ensure the security of our website and to protect it from hacker attacks.
Since the IP address is transferred to Defiant, Inc. in the USA, additional protective measures are required to ensure the level of data protection provided by the GDPR. To ensure this, we have agreed on standard data protection clauses with the provider in accordance with Art. 46 (2) lit. c GDPR. These oblige the recipient of the data in the USA to process the data in accordance with the level of protection in Europe. In cases where this cannot be ensured even by this contractual extension, we endeavour to obtain additional regulations and commitments from the recipient in the USA.
PostX
Our website uses the PostX plugin to count how often individual posts are viewed. This helps us to identify popular content and improve our offering. PostX uses a first-party cookie called ultp_view_[PostID] for this purpose. This cookie stores the fact that a particular visitor has already viewed a post so that multiple views are not counted multiple times.
The cookies are used exclusively for statistical purposes and are not used to identify individual persons. The data is not passed on to third parties.
Revocation/opt-out:
Visitors can refuse or revoke the use of cookies at any time via the cookie banner. After revocation, the PostX cookies are automatically deleted and the view count is no longer continued for this visitor.
