Week 18: New Humboldt Founder Report, Kai Wegner visits JUNI Office

Each quarter, we summarize the latest figures from our Humboldt Founders’ companies. Within the first quarter of 2026, we have already seen significant growth, including 45 new startups, 35 new funding rounds, an increase of €0.3 billion in total funding volume, 14 new companies based in Berlin, 10 more companies founded by women, and an increase of five companies working toward their sustainability and development goals. Last week, Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner visited JUNI, the Startup Factory Berlin-Brandenburg. Since the AI NATION ACCELERATOR teams are also based in JUNI’s office, founders, politicians, industry leaders, and scientists were able to come together this Monday. The founders of the ACCELERATOR teams Sikia.ai, Thellma AI, Caidera, and Xydra Labs shared their unfiltered experiences regarding entrepreneurship in Germany, legislation, and global competition, resulting in a truly honest exchange.

Networking opportunities and candid conversations like these—especially with decision-makers from different sectors of society—are the prerequisite for startups to successfully overcome challenges. This day once again demonstrated the immense value of the collaboration between AI NATION and JUNI.
