Week 35: idea2action, greenCHEM at Cradle to Cradle Congress 2026

Sometimes, during the research process, ideas emerge that are fascinating but whose potential and feasibility seem questionable. This is precisely what idea2action is for. It is a three-month programme run by WISTA Management GmbH, the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin Transfer Office and Humboldt-Innovation GmbH, in which researchers can explore the potential of initial ideas and devise the next steps. This means that participants do not need to turn up with a finished concept or business model. All that is required is an initial idea linked to their own professional field, along with curiosity and the motivation to work on it. On 17 and 18 September, the International Cradle to Cradle Congress 2026 will be held for the tenth time at the Technical University of Berlin, bringing together around 1,000 participants to exchange ideas and network. Cradle to Cradle describes a design concept for products that are healthy for both people and the environment, using materials whose use is integrated into a biological cycle. The aim is to avoid waste, resource depletion and material insecurity, whilst creating a positive environmental impact. This year, greenCHEM will also be attend the congress and provide an insight into the ongoing Paludi Challenge, with one of the teams presenting its solution during a pitch session at the event. This gives greenCHEM the opportunity to give the C2C community an understanding of its work in the fields of green chemistry, innovation and circular solutions.
